Reorganization

  • Oak Tree Publications has undergone some changes. OTP was created to serve as a non-profit ministry for the purpose of publishing and distributing How Far Can You Go? on a much larger scale. It had a mission of advancing the Kingdom of God throughout the world through the distribution of biblically-based printed media. We experienced great success in fulfilling this mission. In our first year of operation, we sponsored two Project Purity Training Tours to South Africa and conducted 100 seminars – reaching over 10,000 people and distributing 50,000 books.

Our greatest challenge was finances. A typical trip (including transportation, expenses, printing, etc.) costs at least $5,000.00. While we have had success in raising that money, we don’t want to be in a position where ministry cannot take place due to a lack of funds.

In an effort to address this issue, OTP has been changed to a for-profit publishing corporation. We will endeavor to pursue and develop profitable markets for all of the books OTP publishes. It is our desire to sell books to those who can afford them in order to pay for the books we give to those who cannot. “He who gathered much did not have too much and he who gathered little had no lack” (2 Corinthians 8:15).

  • OTP will work closely with the newly developed non-profit organization, Oak Tree Ministries, to distribute books in underprivileged communities and countries. Click here For more information about this ministry.

New Publications

We are pleased to announce the release of two new books under the OTP imprint:

  • Lord, Can You Hear Me?: Praying to Become the Person God Created You to Be - teaches how you can experience the type of life-transformation that God expects from and desires for all of His children by developing the proper attitude about prayer.
  • Morning Manna: Looking for God in Everyday Life is a devotional book/journal that seeks to show how God is at work in all the details of our daily lives – the good, the bad and the ugly. Originally published only on the Internet, “Manna” is being offered for the first time in book form. You can read a sample devotional at http://jaysmorningmanna.blogspot.com.

  • For the past five years How Far Can You Go? Straight Talk About Sexual Purity had been published in the United States under a different imprint. We are pleased to announce that OTP will now be taking over publication of “How Far…” in the U.S. OTP hopes to continue the success stateside that it has had distributing this book internationally, where nearly 50,000 books have been printed and distributed.

  • In September 2005, in cooperation with the Association of Baptists for World Evangelism, a French version of “How Far…” was published. Currently, it is being distributed in the West African countries of Togo and Sierre Leonne.

New Projects

Would you like to contribute to a future publication? We are working on a follow-up to How Far Can You Go? that addresses the purity issues that adults face. Here are a few ways you can contribute:

  • Do you have a story concerning your own journey towards purity? Have you had success in overcoming a stronghold that you would be willing to share? Have you developed some strategies for maintaining purity in the face of temptations?

  • Questions you would like to have answered.

  • Issues you’d like to see addressed.

  • You can send your submissions to Jason Perry at jperry@oaktreepub.org
